    Email Scam

    NCRS'ers,
Someone out there is trying to run the following scam on NCRS members. In the example below they sent the email to my wife, so they're not too bright. I have heard from other NCRS Board members, Team Leaders, and Chapter Officers that have received a similar solicitation. The key is the email address they are using, which is presidents@aacamembers.com I have only one email address, that listed in the Restorer. If you receive an email from this person just ignore it.

    Sharyl,
How are you today? Can you please handle this for me on behalf of the NCRS. National Corvette Restorers Society need Gift cards for donation to Veterans Hospice care unit across the community. Kindly confirm if you can help out.

    Re: Email Scam

Mike, it is prudent that you have given all interested parties a "heads up" on this most recent scam attempt. I receive a scam e mail about once a month, always from our chapter chair (name included), and the e mail addresses vary, they are constantly changing. I am familiar with our chapter chair's real e mail address - I know it as well as I know mine - if I receive an e mail with his name in it and the address is bogus I just delete..... and block the address. The point is, this most recent effort with the "aacamembers.com e mail is not the only one, there will be others - stay alert. In our chapter we no longer list the officers contact info in the public area of our website -and some officer e mails will no longer be listed in our quarterly newsletter.

      Re: Email Scam

I recently received this email scam, but it was NOT from NCRS officers or Chapter officers. It was from NCRS members and good friends. I know neither would make such a solicitation.. No response is adequate or necessary.
