    Need New Battery for 1967 C2 and engine oil

    Hello all:
    I just purchased a restored 1967 C2 427/435 and am new to corvettes. The car seems to need a new battery. Any particular battery recommended?
    Also, what oil would you recommend for the car.

      Leon,
      Welcome to the NCRS and the fantastic world of C2 ownership! You will learn how to use the "search" function and it will be of immense help to you. If you scroll down to the bottom of this page, you will see many other posts asking similar questions regarding "battery". Any oil with a high ZDDP rating marked "CJ" will work for your engine. A choice of many is Shell Rotella Diesel oil 15W40...yes, diesel oil.
      Ask away on any and all questions. What makes you think that you may need a new battery?

          Thank you so very much for your response, and I will explore the site and the search function. I went to start the car and she wouldn't turn over. Quick jump from my jeep immediately did the trick

              Leon, Go to the Mid-Atlantic Chapter website and then to the Tech Library. Scroll down to "Engine" and look for several articles on "engine oil for vintage Corvettes" - that will explain a lot of info that is in the many tech forum threads you will find if you do a search. http://www.ncrsmac.org/Tech-Library

              But, do take some time learning how to use the search tool - you will be glad you did.

                          Beautiful '67 Leon. Being as you recently purchased the car, it may have been sitting for awhile without a battery tender on it. Might just need a full charge. Try that first before going to the expense and hassle of changing out the battery you have. Just a thought.

                                      AC Delco 24PS will suit your needs. Saw your car at B-J Mohegan Sun and it was very nice indeed...congrats on the purchase.
