The 6th edition of the 1956-1957 Corvette Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide, pages 29 and 30 both state that "under dash metal bracing starting approximately with '57 VIN 4360 onward.
I posted this information in response to a request from a person of Corvette Forum.
John Hinckley then posted that his old 1957 Corvette, VIN #4275 also had the aluminum underdash bracing (and was also a 4 speed car)
Noland Adams C1 book (page 138) says "Checking with Corvette owners indicates that body reinforcements began about E57S104300; E57S104296 was the earliest 1957 Corvette reported them.
Now E57S104275 is also reporting the underdash reinforcements.
The more we learn, the more we realize what we do not know.
