Re: Breakfast with the N. Wilkesboro wildcat
As I posted on a social site I am very fortunate to have friends like you two and another one that drove in from AR a few years back to break bread with me. Through this hobby, and my various careers I have made many, many acquaintances, and quite a few friends.
Someone said we join NCRS for the cars and then we stay for the friends. I am very, very blessed.
On another note I was standing in the FBO office when the Pitcarin Pilot AKA Mark Donally, told them he needed the full 6,000' of runway to takeoff with the extra weight he gained at breakfast

1,000 miles, +/- 50 miles. Eggs prepared your way, sausage patties, country cured ham, cream gravy, red eye gravy, apples, home made biscuits, tater wedges, etc. All you can eat.Dick Whittington- Top

Shatley Springs is great and it is on the Blue Ridge Parkway which makes it even a more joyful ride in your Corvette. Unfortunately my Cousin that rode with me up that hill is gone. He was a loadmaster on a C130 in Viet Nam during the war and The Agent Orange he downloaded on the Viet Cong killed him. But we had a great time and won a trophy and speakers for the longest distance award at a car show later that weekend.
Thanks for the good time Dick.

Re: Breakfast with the N. Wilkesboro wildcat
That was on our agenda last year, didn't work out. Wanted to do the Texas Chapter road tour this year as they went into some of my old stomping grounds (glad grounds don't talk) but it did not work out. Neither of us were up to Greenville. Lonestar is only a 1,000 mile drive, would like to think we could do it this year. Time will tell.
Doc Q, keep thinking I will be able to take off sometime and come to Cumberland to hoist at least one more BeastDick Whittington- Top
