Rich, congratulations. There's nothing quite like the feeling of solving a technical challenge with these old cars, especially with something as involved as Tri-Power. And even better is the feeling of doing it yourself versus paying someone. Next up, if you haven't already done so, is the VAC swap and dial in the timing. thanks. I had done the vac swap a while ago and it made a positive difference. One thing the guy who rebuilt the end carbs told me was that the floats were set too high. He says most of them he gets are that way. Not sure how that affects anything when they are not in the picture in normal driving. They seem to work fine when requested by my foot.

Rich, float / fuel bowl level check is simple enough: with car idling, fuel should be just at the bottom edge of the sight plug. I use clear plugs for this exercise so no fuel leaks out.
