The date could mean a couple of things, 5th month 1st week of 65, or it could mean 51st day of 65, or 51st week of 65. My guess is it means 51st day of 65.

Here's what is on the back of the clock on the last '65 (VIN 23564): ink stamp 205. I always thought it was the Julian dating system (July 2nd, 1965 ?) but now (31 years later) I'm not so sure. The back of the instrument cluster (with LB sticker) is ink-stamped: Packed by (blank)on first line, then (2nd line): July 26 1965 02. This car rolled off the production line early August.

A little more data....my early '66 (Sept. 15, 1965) has 235 on the back of the clock.

I have a spare 63 clock with a normal date code.

Good Morning Guys,

Just searched the archives and only found this one thread. Maybe there's more? Couldn't find any. Pretty sure I figured this out years ago. Memory banks getting weaker. Gonna check my '66 clock when I get back north next month. It's in a box. But I do recall that both of my car's clocks 3 digit codes end in a "5". April built '65 and December built '66. Interesting that there's nothing definitive on this subject already. Or is there? Mike

You Just killed my weeknumber theory. Your 343 6 points to a day number theory but only if your car was build in January 1967 or a bit later. I realy hope that we will find an answer

Here's a photo of the date code on the back of my 1967 with a build date of March 30, 1967. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know where the clock received its stamp ?
Was is by Borg Instruments (the clock manufacturer now Borg Indak) or was it by GM at the corvette plant?
