it's anybody's guess. Wonder if anybody tried to contact customer service at the Borg plant?
Maybe a old timer there would know? Thanks>Larry

        Re: C2 clock date stamping

Mainly going thru the posts with images, I had a very similar thought as Ruud...
If the clocks ending with a '5', didn't have a preceding number, higher than 52.
So the early dating scheme was MONTH and YEAR... (ie: NOV 62)
Later followed by WEEK and YEAR date stamps... (ie: 265)
Concluding with the DAY and YEAR stamps... (ie: 3436 )
(stamps were progressively getting more accurate, as the years went by)

Just another dating possibility to consider...

Turning to the way back time machine. I know I and a fellow NCRS member visited Instrument Services and I wrote a story about it. I think John A published it in The Restorer, but maybe it was for the Illinois Chapter, but I think it was The Restorer. I don't recall much of the contents of the story, but someone with the Restorer CD might be able to find it and see if date codes were mentioned.

Korrectamundo... good memory! From the Spring 1989 Restorer article:

"The clocks were date coded, either with a month/year, or with a Julian calendar date code. The Julian date starts with 001 for January 1st, through 365 for December 31st (or 366 if a leap year). The later model clocks used a seven-digit code consisting of the clock model number, and Julian date code. A code of "210 0302" means 210 model, and 0302 indicates January 30, 1972. Replacement clocks built in later years used a different date code. They added the year (the first number) to prevent mixup with other 1980 model clocks. Example: code "7210 1302" means model 7210 made on the 130th day of 1982."

UPDATE: So I'm now confused with the 3 digit codes that seem to all end in '5' (thus far)... would that mean there was no year designated?

Herez some research to consider... see attached PDF.

              UPDATE:
Due to a dating TYPO/ERROR in the PDF... a new (V2) PDF has been uploaded.
In addition, Ray's clock data has been included.
              My apologies for the mistake.

                Jack,
Thank you for that PDF. (It appears my clock was a 65 not a 66 as stated)

For additional reference, my 1965 original Borg Instrument clock is stamped 145.
My '65 build date was July 21st, 1965

I took Jack's data and put it into an Excel spreadsheet and chart...
