Synchro going on 4th gear in my Muncie due to 4:11s

Having trouble with synchro on Top gear which is getting worse over time. Its that bad now that I have to overhaul it!

The Muncie gear box expert over here says this is because I am running a 4:11 dif.
Has anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks,
    Gary

That statement makes absolutely no sense at all. It would help if you craft a more detailed and precise description of the "trouble".

One thing to keep in mind: you need to carefully inspect not only the brass synchro rings but also the synchro teeth on the gears. Some folks assume that all the wear will be on the softer brass synchro teeth and neglect to inspect the synchro teeth on the gears. The synchro teeth on the gears should have a sharp point and not be rounded off or irregular. Sometimes "repair" of the synchro teeth on the gears will be done by grinding worn teeth to a sharp point. This is a short-lived solution, though, because the teeth are case hardened and any grinding will wear through the hardening.
