Seeking Advice - Simulation of 1965 Factory Finish On A O Smith Coupe.

Playing around with a semi-gloss clear coat, to simulate un-buffed 1965 factory finish on these parts. So far so, good. This is being done by a cooperating painter who thinks I'm nuts. He's agreed to do the door jambs with this type of clear.

The rear valance has some red-oxide peeking through the red on the bottom edge. Can't see that in this photo.

Got some ideas about the bottom edge of the doors, and behind the rear wheels. Any advice?
