Re: windshield glass
James:
I put the link to Summit out there simply to show you that YES, Pilkington Classic does side glass for our cars as well as windshields. LOGOs and date coding are extra cost.
I also did not attempt to imply Summit as a preferred supplier, but that they were one of many. As Jim says, call their number direct and discuss your needs with their rep. Then decide where/how to best get the glass. Here in New Orleans, they have a Pilkington Dealer......for their general glass, but I feel reasonably confident that this local warehouse could also be a pickup point for me for the classic glass as well.

Re: windshield glass
Hello everyone I got a dater coded c2 glass from pinkerton At least thats what local supplier told me? and the date and logo look great but they are sandblasted on the outside of the glass which is not how the originals are done so it is pretty easy to spot the difference. Are you sure this will pass judging?
THanks

Re: windshield glass
I was just quoted $235 for the 63-67 tinted windshield. Add $50 for date coding and another $50 for crating. Free shipping to your local Pilkington distributor but you have to pay sales tax. $356.27 picked up at dealer. If you want it shipped to your door, then it's $171 more which includes the $50 box fee in case you don't have a local dealer. Randy is absolutely the best guy to talk to. Pilkington has a 20 yr employee who works with the classic car windshields and knows the logo layouts for most classics and muscle cars according to Randy. This 2nd generation w/s is as close as we're going to get for now and possibly forever. As these windshields get out into the judging events, they will hopefully be accepted by the judges.
If you have a driven Corvette over 30 yrs old, then the w/s will have road rash and probably have ben replaced. NOS, correct dated glass are unicorns and only for the high dollar restored cars. Us, average guys in the hobby that aren't doing this for a living need affordable, acceptable options.
Thanks again to Jim for his 3 yr effort to get this windshield correct.- Top

Re: windshield glass
Gary,
This is the information I needed to hear. I need a correctly dated replacement for the driver's side vent glass on my '65. I'm going to try the guy in California that advertises used Corvette parts and see what he has.
Thanks,
James West
