    Missing Hardtop Hardware

'96 vert - I'm trying to figure out what screws are missing (if any) from the provision provided for hardtop installation.

On the passenger side there are two Torx fillister screws with large captured washers for attachment of the auxiliary hardtop bracket. There was nothing in the lower hole but I found a button-head Torx screw (right in pic below) under the carpet of the rear bulkhead just below this area.

On the driver side there is nothing in the upper holes for the bracket and the lower hole had one of the fillister head screws installed about finger tight. I'm hoping someone with a '94 - '96 vert can tell me what hardware should be present in these six screw holes.

    Thanx & Merry Christmas

Attached pdf is 1991-1996 Hardtop info extracted from C4 Parts and Illustration Catalog - contains fastener size and thread information. Owner's Manual page 2-64 to 69 has hardtop removal/installation procedure - should identify relevant bolts.

    Hope this helps.

      Re: Missing Hardtop Hardware

Thanx Dave, but unfortunately the catalog doesn't solve the mystery in this case. As you probably know, the catalogs don't always tell us what came from the factory. The catalog shows the current part for that application as of the date the catalog was published. Also, in several cases I have found the catalog to be just plain wrong.

The catalog shows (2) 10175552 and (2) 10175553 used on the bracket. The fact that 10175553 supersedes 10175552 makes things more confusing. Both of these parts have been discontinued and I haven't been able to find any listed on ebay. There are a few complete hardtop installation kits listed on ebay but that doesn't tell me which (if any) of these screws came from the factory in a non-CC2 convertible.

I think the only way I'm going to know for sure is for someone with a known to be original '96 (or perhaps 94 - 96) non-CC2 convertible to verify which screws came installed in these six holes from the factory.

Thanx for your interest in helping me out and please let me know if you have any other ideas.
