63 FI prefix on engine block

Does the FI prefix on my 63 fuel injected engine block serial number stand for the obvious (fuel injected)?

The engine configuration code is the two letter suffix to the numerical date code. For '63 Fuel Injection is RF, 340 HP is RE...

You should buy the '53-'67 Corvette Specifications Guide from NCRS that has lots of very useful component ID information and certainly the '63-'64 JG and Judging Reference Manual if you plan to have your car Flight judged.

You should also buy a 1963 Corvette Shop Manual and AIM, and download the free "vehicle information package" pdf from the GM Heritage Web site.
