requesting recommendation on plating chrome, B oxide, cad

I need to do some plating on my '70 Convertible prepping for Top Flight- who is good and priced reasonable
    ( and doesn't take 6 months ) for plating.
Prefer So Calif but others OK bumpers, black oxide nuts and bolts, brake reservoir gold that sort of stuff

    THANKS

You can do black phosphate yourself; I did some Tuesday evening.
Very few (if any) parts are actually black oxide, as it cost more than GM wanted to spend.

The one I linked to is FAR better than the Eastwood Kit.
I would not waste time or money with Eastwood.

I have used Shooters Solution for black phosphate for years with great results. It is available in 2 formulas- manganese phosphate and zinc phosphate- one is grayer than the other. I can't remember which but I'm sure a phone call to them will get you what you need. For black oxide I have always preferred Caswell.

Curious about the process for those who have done this with good results as a DIY'er. Do you spray it on?, brush on?, immerse the item? Any other chemicals or heat or processing required? How durable?

Unfortunately Shooter's Solutions is no longer around.

I used Palmetto Enterprises before I used Shooter's Solutions, and went back to Palmetto at this time. It's easier now that they are on eBay (link provided earlier). The manganese is the darker phosphate, the zinc is the lighter.

                        Patrick,
Thanks for letting me know that Shooters is no longer around. I haven't purchased for several years. When I need some more I will try your source.

Just a FYI I have been taking a good number of nuts/bolt and black phosphated items off both my 70's and 75 use paint remover to remove overspray IF needed and simple green if grease and soaking overnight in VAPO RUST A majority of the pieces are coming out pretty darn good AND ORIGINAL. doesn't LOOK "OVER RESTORED" not show car perfect pretty but very correct
old engine oil seems to preserve original black phosphate pretty well. Bob So Cal
