Stencils done under the paint, if the driveshaft is painted black.

The number is under the paint
I went back thru my photos
This was from a NOS driveshaft I have
5 1/2 inches from the rear weld (where the rear yoke was welded to the tube
part number 3707878 in mustard yellow
Stencil is avail from Quaunta

So the stenciled number was under the black paint? Is that what the first line of the post indicates?

So it sounds like I should stencil the number on and THEN paint the driveshaft.
