This ia a 67 3904351 block from a mid-January car. Pad and and transmission dates line up within 30 days prior. The block cast date is the question.... should be December 66. But,the "L' character appears reversed. Is this somethins seen since it was a manual process? Are there other known blocks in with this error?

Re: Block Casting Date Question
you need to hunt down other blocks cast on the same day. start with finding cars built the same day as yours and finding assembly stamps that are close. be like finding a needle in a hay stack though- Top

Re: Block Casting Date Question
351 blocks were definitely being cast on June 17, 1966, and this appears to be one. What is the assembly date? Sometimes there were gaps of 6 months between between casting and assembly of big blocks. Post a picture of the pad.- Top

Re: Block Casting Date Question
Great looking pad.... I hope to have a couple to compare today. I do have a couple more of the casting date to post. Do we for sure know 351's were cast in mid June? It sure as heck looks like an inverted "L".- Top
