Re: 69 Big Block Intake Gasket

Joe, I was just looking at the gasket set I have and found a GM logo on the end seals. I bought these from Paragon maybe 10 years ago. Just ordered another set from them and I'm going to keep these as spares. I'm curious to see if the new set comes with a GM logo.

I'll try to cut the side gaskets as Stephen Lavigne did, and see how it goes. There is a set of NOS gaskets on eBay. They do not have the GM logo on the end seals, and the side gaskets look like the reproductions. I wonder if GM changed the design of service replacement gaskets to address any leak issues?? Anyway, here's the eBay link and below are two photos of my end seals: https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-65-72-C...53.m1438.l2649

The eBay set is a later SERVICE set. These have a different configuration side gaskets than originals or earlier SERVICE sets. However, these usually do have the "GM" embossments on the end seals. No guarantee, though. Also, it's possible that the end seals in the eBay set were switched with an aftermarket set.

I was not aware that the reproduction gasket sets had the "GM" embossment on the end seals.
