Re: 1965 A/C Freon Hoses Source
Nothing can/will replace the originals. The ones LICS sells have logos and are a barrier hose to accept R134a refrigerant. However neither the hose nor the logos look like OEM in my opinion.
You might checkout what DR REBUILD sells. His rubber products and soft parts have always been a cut above the rest. But he stopped imprinting logos on the hoses probably 8-10 years ago. They last showed up in his 2008 catalog. So maybe you buy his hoses and make your own ink stamps. Or call and ask if the logos are still available as a special order.
For your information there were three different manufacturers of the AC hoses for the C2 cars. Goodyear was one.......and their logo/symbol was "GY" along with the hose size. I have the other two names in my files if needed. My own 1967 car has three hoses , each with a different manufacturer and logo. They are still legible........but fading with advanced age.

I may just keep my originals, which are the "GY" manufacturer.
Thanks,
James

Re: 1965 A/C Freon Hoses Source
Hi James,
Do you have any shots of your hose logos? Only one hose was original to my earlier '66. It's the short muffler to evaporator hose. It's logo is:
GY 4 - 65.
Just curious what the other original hose logos might look like.

Mike,
The logos on my a/c hoses are very faint. I'll try to get a picture if them and post here in the TDB.

Harry:
Your hoses and GY imprints look good.
The various logos on the hoses are:
GY = Goodyear Rubber Company
EHR = Electric Hose and Rubber Company
RRD = Republic Rubber Division.
Hoses also have sizes shown/imprinted. I think only Goodyear has dates............but not certain on this point without further checking. But it could be one reason why LICS does not offer the GY logo. Other could be trademark issue.

Re: 1965 A/C Freon Hoses Source
Hi James,
Sorry for this late post. Here's some pretty good shots of the muffler to STV hose that's the only complete survivor to my '66 L36. My car's a December 1st, '65 built convertible. I've got a file shot of this same hose from another '66 L36 that's 33 cars after my VIN and it has the identical Goodyear stamp.
Larry thanks for posting the info of the three different manufacturers of Freon hoses. I've always suspected a cut remnant that came with a box of original parts to my car might have been original. It has the EHR logo on it. Thanks to Bubbuh there's not much left of it. Luckily, the next owner kept it and sold it to me along with numerous other parts original to the car. Oh, the power of an earlier Oklahoma title search!
I'm heading up to Maryland where the cars are in a couple of days and I'll take some shots or it and post it here. It sure would be good if anyone could post more original hose stamp photos here. The information they show is enormous! Mike
