Code 12, Check Eng Lite, 82 Crossfire ??

Hi to everyone ,new member here.
Can anyone help,I,ve got 82 crossfire and the check engine light is on, the diagnostic check comes up with code 12 and I cant reset it ,any got ideas. thanks .

If the ``Test'' terminal is grounded with ignition on and engine not running, the system will enter the diagnostic mode. In the diagnostic mode, the ECM will flash a Code 12 and energize all ECM controlled relays.After flashing code 12 3 times, if there is a trouble code stored, that code will then flash 3 times followed by a code 12 again 3 more times

In other words, if all you are getting is a code 12, everything is fine.

Stu the old school computer code 12, I believe is also a no tach signal. But the guys above are also correct when the key is on and ALDL is grounded and engine is not running then code 12 is your ready to go, all OK.

But guys, he said his check engine light is on so there must be another code besides the code 12. I have a similar situation on my 91 ZR-1.

With the ignition key in the 'on' position and the engine stopped, is the 'check engine' light on steady all the time or flashing BEFORE you ground the test terminal??

Hi . just to make things bad, I have no oil pressure guage working after changing sender and gauge , check pressure with mechanical gauge all ok 45 PSI and the tank empty light is on although theres half a tank of fuel, can these all be connected , bad EMC.
