Hi all-Found the corner piece of my jacking instruction label in the jack stowage compartment of my 66. Car is un-restored,and very original-in your opinion, should I try to bond the corner piece back where it belongs, or maybe just put it in the owner's packet with the p.o.p.?IMG_20200302_191810362.jpgIMG_20200302_191810362.jpgIMG_20200302_191810362.jpgIMG_20200229_170953109.jpgIMG_20200229_170953109.jpgIMG_20200229_170953109.jpgIMG_20200302_191810362.jpg

Re: 66 original jacking instruction label advice
Look closely at the board and the corner piece of the jacking instructions...can you see where there was glue smeared on it originally? The reason I ask, is that if you glue that corner piece back in place you're going to be covering up the JP Stevens Jack Board Carpet Label (or, a good portion thereof).
It may never have had any glue to hold it in place and that's why it tore off after 54 years.Leif

Re: 66 original jacking instruction label advice
Thanks- You are correct-Doesn't look like there ever was any glue under that corner of the instruction label, and if I glue it down,it would cover most of the carpet label, and the year of the date code stamp on the carpet label. (9-20-65).
However- if the factory had glued the jack label properly, the carpet label would have been partially covered forever.
Maybe the carpet label was installed in the wrong location originally? I would like to see pics of other original jack board instruction and carpet label installations-(especially k/o wheel option)
Thanks again for your insight!- Top

Do you have the TIM&JG for your '66 model? In the "Interior" section there is a description of where the labels typically were positioned. Below is the description from my '67 manual.Attached FilesLeif
