Is this a correct 1965 jack?

The jack is not but the jack handle may be correct. It would take a closer inspection of the head markings if any.

The jack handles can be identified by the holes in the handles and a mark cast into the head of the handle. There are several articles in "The Restorer" that show these in detail.

Reach out to Harry Ledgerwood. He can fix you up with one of the four varieties of 1965 jacks. Good luck, Tony

It is NOT an original 65 Corvette jack. What are the 3 small digits (date code???) stamped on one go the rivet heads? Is there a large letter "A" stamped on the top?

On one of the rivet heads is the number 824 and the other looks like a "0" or an "O".

I was thinking that the "824" stamping was possibly a date code. Back about 1980 when I was a "Corvette Rookie" I bought a scissor jack, GM # 3958710, from my local Chevrolet dealership just to compare it with my original 1966 scissor jack as it was listed for 63-79 Corvettes. Eventually I determined that it was dated "9C21" (March 21, 1979) on the "block" near the hex end where you attach the jack handle. Is there a date code on the "block" of your jack?

Nothing on the block. I will just clean it up and hope I never have to use it.

Let me know if I can help you secure an original C2 Jack for your car.

Thanks Harry, but I will not be having my new purchase judged.
