Re: 64 Grill Tabs
I essentially had the same problem with the tabs that holds the cluster in place. I keep some C2 Fiberglass around. I used a dremel and cut out a tab and drilled the hole. Mixed some fiberglass resin with lots of hardener as I wanted it to set up quickly. Using fiberglass cloth and the resin I attached the tab. I used some blue painters tape to hold it in place. After it set up I mixed some more resin with the normal amount of hardener and added another strip of fiberglass cloth. At the end I cleaned it up with the dremel and cleaned up the hole. This should work the same for your repair.

Jim,
If you attempt a fix like Harry suggested, take a lot of before - during - and after pics, document what you did, how and what products you used and..... write a tech article for the MAC newsletter or the Restorer.Ed- Top

Re: 64 Grill Tabs
I had the same problem with my 63 grill tabs and my method was similar to Harry's. I took a piece of 4x4 wood and covered it with wax paper ( the wax paper prevents the fiberglass from sticking to everything) then fiber glassed over a corner about 2" on each side using about 4 layers of material. I covered it with another layer of wax paper and I used a steel angle and some clamps to compress the fiberglass. The result was a 2" x 2" piece of fiberglass about 16" long. I then cut it into tabs and bonded it under the front valance. They are strong enough to hold up to the weight of the grill and have been on the car for quite a few years now.- Top
