Re: C2 Corbin hose clamps
Enzo, I just went through this, sealant is a good idea. Also if your reusing the old hoses try cutting the hose just ahead of the clamped area if you have enough excess. The Corbin clamps will leave compression marks in hose making it tough to reseal.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: C2 Corbin hose clamps
The old hoses get hard quickly and reusing an old hose with the Corbin clamps is IMHO a bad idea. Specifically if older than 5 years.
GM used them because they were quick, cheap and easy to install.
GM is still doing the same thing but using plastic quick disconnects for the heater hoses. On the assembly line its one push and done. I just touched one on my truck and it broke at the fitting! It required a special tool to disconnect and I had to order the specialized fitting. I replaced both of them to be safe. A month later it happened to my brother on the same style Silverado. Only he was driving at the time. I knew the part number and had the tool to help him. Of course my truck is now 20 years old and beyond the calculated service life. This group understands driving old vehicles, possible better than possible any other group!
My wife has a new vehicle and she prefers them. I do not.
