Re: 67 assembly order
Tom I cannot think of any reason, I think you can go either way, glass is a easy install using the rope method. I always like to think of making the job easier and without damaging the new paint , protection is key.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 67 assembly order
Thanks Edward,
that was my thought as well, was hoping to hear back from some of our experienced guys in case no was missing something. Not having anything in the way makes installing the glass easy and no concerns with getting sealant on the new dash. Plenty of tape on the new paint to protect it and I should be good to go.- Top

Re: 67 assembly order
Interesting point... I just found this note from John Hinckley...
The order of things in the AIM has no relationship to the sequence of the assembly process; it's organized by Engineering UPC (Uniform Parts Classification) Group, which mirrors the assignment of parts in the Engineering releasing system:
1 = Body, Body Trim & Hardware
2 = Frame
3 = Front Suspension
4 = Rear Suspension & Driveline
5 = Brakes
6 = Engine
7 = Transmission & Clutch
8 = Fuel & Exhaust
9 = Steering
10 = Wheels & Tires
11/13 = Front Sheet Metal and Cooling]
12 = Electrical
14 = Bumpers & Miscellaneous- Top

Re: 67 assembly order
Tom, Yes you may install your glass before the dash, its easier that way. One thing you should pay attention to is the clips for the outside window trim. These must be installed first. Also, if using new clips avoid the chinese made ones (these are too hard and not quite right config) and go for the USA made clips. Cleaned original clips work best IMHO. Also open them up a bit (new clips) prior to install with a flat blade screwdriver. Failure to do this may result in difficulty in installing the outside stainless mouldings.- Top

Re: 67 assembly order
just make sure before the glass goes in if you removed the brace rod that goes from the windshield frame to the bird cage cross brace you put that back in. and before you place the dash back in that you have the clips for the screws for the revel molding that you have them in place- Top

Re: 67 assembly order
Thanks Edward, all good tips that I have read here in the forum. FWIW all the overseas parts are junk... I have most of the original clips needed for the windshield but need a few of the lower molding type that I think you are talking about spreading. I will make sure they are USA made.
appreciate the info.
