did you ever get the bolt out? what method did you use? just wondering. mike.
Not yet but I have not spent a lot of time on it. Since it will be one of the last things going back on the car I only go at it when I have a few extra minutes. I will post the final outcome.

In situations like this, I used a cutoff tool that you can buy with a 3" wheel at Harbor Freight. This method has worked great for me without any damage.

        SUCCESS

Saturday evening I propped it in a shallow container immersing just that part of the alternator in ATF/Acetone for a couple of days. This morning (Tuesday) I hit the bolt with my impact gun. I was just about ready to give up when I saw movement, barely perceptible but it did move. I slowly kept lubing it and working it back and forth and about 15 minutes later I could get it to spin all the way around. After that it was a simple matter of driving it out. Thanks everyone for all you suggestions and advice. Thought I would let you know the outcome.

Make sure you thoroughly clean the bore in the alternator case with a steel or brass bristle tube brush.
