    70 LT1 help

Been correcting a few running issues now that I've been home for awhile. Installed the freshly rebuilt carb, Big improvement. Compression, leakdown checked out fine.

Moving on to the distributor, I believe, just by looking, at least the cam weight is wrong. and vacuum can. (have the correction for that). 540 would indicate 40* mech advance, the spec on the 1111491 dist is 26* mech.

Does anyone with a 70 LT1 have a pic similar to what I posted here, show the advance number stamping? Or know what their advance number stamping is? Thanks in advance.

Not at my fingertips. I will get to it, if someone else doesn't first.

Leonard. Do you have a pic with the weights off so the stamped number is visable on the can weight?

The original rotating pole piece for your application was GM #1967928. This pole piece was supposed to have been stamped "536".

              Joe..

Yes my searching keeps bringing me back to that number. My problem is the spec for the 1111491 lists a max centrifugal advance of 26 degrees. Unless the "536" has a different translation than 36 degrees, not sure about that part number.
Thought getting same actual numbers from known correct units might shed some light. Thanks.

also finding 2 different mainshafts. The pic of mine and the pic of Leonards appear to be the same. I also get this one,(top pic), when I check what the venders have as being Hi perf.

Sorry Dennis, I do not have any other pictures and the distributor is gone.
My pictures showing the distributor on the right is a 1112038 '71 LT1 distributor. The top looks to be the same as your "vendor high performance"
