66 cad. plated carb return spring bracket L79

Hi, in the newest 66 judging manual it states that the return spring bracket on a L79 is Cad/Zinc plated , but no one that I have found sells one plated they are either s/s or bare steel. I am guessing I would have to get my original one replated
    any info would be great
    thank you Bob Peckham

It's common for the repo stuff to be made in a different or no finish than what it was made in when new. I've had to send a number of new parts out to be re-plated in the proper finish. If you have a local plater you can send them to that makes it easy, but many of them will charge a minimum fee for plating very small batches of parts, so you might find yourself paying a premium (? $50 ?) to get just one item plated correctly. I use a company in Ft. Worth that has done a good job for me http://www.billmarkplating.com/

      Robert,

A number of members do home zinc plating, including myself. If you don't get an offer to plate it from one of them that may be close by to you send me a PM - I will zinc plate it for you - free - it will only take about 30 minutes total. If a person is already set up to plate small items it is a piece of cake. I will spend more time driving to the post office to return it.

Ed , thank you for the kind offer . Was sending my rad cap off to be restored and Tim said he could plate the bracket for me while doing the cap.
        thanks again Bob Peckham
