Hello all,

Just wondering - did early model 1968 Corvettes have the black plastic front air dam installed at the factory?? Were holes provided in the lower valance or was the air dam extension an add-on later in the model year to help with cooling??

Blair. I'm sure it was factory. My previously owned very early 68 coupe had the spoiler. There is some discussion that the forward valance was opened up/trimmed by the dealerships to fix an overheating problem. Some work appeared to be very crude.

According to TSB # 68-T-9 Dated Dec. 27, 1967, the panel extension and added slots in the valance were effective in production starting with Serial No. S400720. This TSB and many others are contained in the rear section of the current 1968-1969 TIMJG.
