I installed set of the FR70's on my 70 LT1 18 months ago. They look good, ride nicely and balanced easily. I only have about 300 miles on them but so far I like them.

        Mark,

They look really, really close to the bias ply tires when I've inspected them.
If you're interested I would not hesitate.
I'm tempted to buy them as driver tires for my 72 as well.

Thanks Patrick and William! I think I’ll go with the FR70 size...I was worried that they might look a bit small being radials, but they look good on Williams car!

GOOD MOVE The repros are not perfect but I hate to see a really NICE car with B F Goodrich etc, kills that original look

FWIW, this is precisely why I bought a set last year. I exercised a business connection and ponied up for a deal on a set of F70/15’s at SEMA 2018. Even for “driver” tires, I just could never get into a non-OE brand. I even tried a set of Uniroyal radials because the JG suggested this was a low volume but original brand. That said, the letters seemed much more of a “billboard“ look to me than what you’d find in a vintage tire. So now, I’m on my 4th set of driver tires in the 15 years I’ve owned the car. I have only little feedback on the Wide Oval radial performance because, shamefully, I only drove this car 188 miles last season. They look terrific. They make the car sit just right. I’d describe the ride as a little more “pedestrian” than my BFG 215/70 15’s. I think what I like most about these tires is that the sidewalls and even the treads have a completely vintage/bias ply tire look where I likened the BFG tread to a snow tire look.

Passenger car ride - comfortable with good road manners. I'll be looking for white stripes next time.

I have not seen them on sale, or ever at much of a discount.

Will do. Jeg’s had $100 off if you spent $1299 last week. The tires are $1204, so you need to spend a little more to get the deal. I was flip flopping on the size and finally decided on Saturday morning. Went to order and they changed the deal to $100 off $1599. So I am waiting a little longer. Friends tell me that Jeg’s and Summit both have $100 off pretty frequently.

                          Spent $95 to save $99...

I think Coker offers free shipping from car shows. Of course, for 2020, what car shows?

Hagerty Driver's Club offers $80 off a set of Coker Classic tires plus an extra 10% for Driver's Club members. I remember getting free shipping from Coker.
