No engine check light

I figured I'd ask since C6's are soon to be judged. Started the C6, 2006 base engine after the winter. I know it's been hot but I live in NH. Anyway, missing and ran like crap. Felt like a coil but no check light. I put in my FIXD and ran it with the phone attached. It picked up a P0301 code. ( Cylinder 1 misfire ). I replace the coil, plug wire and plug on cylinder 1 and the problem is gone.

Anyone else not getting engine codes/lights on the C6 on the dash?

Harry, I had a problem with my 09 with misfire. Actually Ed Johnson found the problem which was a bad ignition wire. Hard to believe with only 22000 miles.

Brian, nothing on. Looks normal.

I think Brian is asking if the check engine light illuminates with the engine on but not running, or while cranking. That's a test the light works.

Yes, all is normal on startup, all the icons illuminate.

The local dealership, a mechanic friend, said there needs to be a certain amount of misfires within a revolution to turn the light on.
