A search of this forum brought up discussions about what hood material is approriate between the inner hood tabs and the X frame support.
My Nov 1965 St Louis built 1966 427 hood appears to be an original unmolested example. In previous posts on this forum I noted comments around factory "gum drop" type flexible sealants/adhesives used to cushion the center hood X frame tabs to the hood skin. My hood - while firmly bonded to the outside frame securely on all four sides ... does not seem to exhibit any obvious use of flexible sealant for the center cross frame tabs. Did center "bond" vary during production as to use of ... or quantity of adhesives ie some had it ... some did not?
