Those ends are a lot nicer than the ends on the 65 NOS ones I bought. The end of the spear was deformed as well.

A friend of mine with a very nice 63 redid an original set (actually 2 sets) It was not cheap but he wanted perfection and original so he paid the price.

I actually showed the good end of the NOS rocker, the other end has a deformed spear tip, kinda looks like a dent in the lower side of the tip.

It depends on the part number and when the parts were manufactured. As I've said before, if the meaning of NOS were held to its original standard (New ORIGINAL Stock) there would be few problems. New ORIGINAL stock means SERVICE parts that went into SERVICE inventory at the same time as the parts were being used in PRODUCTION for a particular model year. Identifying that is very problematic so the term NOS morphed into meaning New OLD Stock with "OLD" being a relative term. From there "NOS" morphed into meaning any manufacturer-discontinued part.
I absolutely agree. I was just giving the Readers Digest version. Now though any part bought OTC from a GM dealer seems to be called NOS.

The ones that GM were selling across the counter in the late '80's were very similar to the one you show. The tooling was worn out.
