I absolutely agree. I was just giving the Readers Digest version. Now though any part bought OTC from a GM dealer seems to be called NOS.Kenneth-----
It depends on the part number and when the parts were manufactured. As I've said before, if the meaning of NOS were held to its original standard (New ORIGINAL Stock) there would be few problems. New ORIGINAL stock means SERVICE parts that went into SERVICE inventory at the same time as the parts were being used in PRODUCTION for a particular model year. Identifying that is very problematic so the term NOS morphed into meaning New OLD Stock with "OLD" being a relative term. The ones that GM were selling across the counter in the late '80's were very similar to the one you show. The tooling was worn out.Dick Whittington- Top
