    69 Battery Compartment

    Hi All,

I've been searching the forums to find information on replacement battery boxes, while i have the car on jack stands. I've found plenty on repairs but mine has been repaired very badly in the past and probably needs replacing. Are there any suppliers in the states that supply these parts, as there aren't any down under?

    Cheers

    Re: 69 Battery Compartment

    Grahame,

I'm not aware of any C3 replacement/repro battery boxes available. Given how common of a problem this is, it's probably not a bad product idea. I've owned two C3s and the bottom of the battery box on both was virtually eaten away. For each, I cut out the damaged area and spliced in a replacement panel from a donor car. (If you're new to fiberglass repair, this is a great first project since perfection isn't critical.)

If you're desperate, I might have an extra battery box from a '70. I'm not sure if '69 and '70 boxes are identical or just similar.

Thanks Michael, I may take you up on the offer if shipping to Australia isn't an issue for you. I remember seeing a post by Joe Lucia where he mentioned (i think) 69-75 where the same mount so i'm assuming its the same size?

      Cheers

        Re: 69 Battery Compartment

Just wondering if someone can confirm if 69 and 70 battery boxes are the same size / configuration? Also if someone has the specs (size) for the box so if i do graft a part of a donor box on i have the correct size, as mine isn't a good example.

        Many thanks
