Re: 1956-7 Tachometer Spacer 3698364
There are a few parts that are difficult to locate for 1956-7 Corvettes. One of those is the spacer 3698364 that is used on the passenger side tachometer mounting stud. It is show in AIM Section 12 sheet 11. This part appears to be made of that rare material known as unobtainium.
The spacer is made from 0.035” sheet metal. The triangular height is 0.35”, and it spaces the tach out 0.33” from the Plate assy. 3706480. A #10 bolt will slip through it.
I was fortunate to find it on the car when I removed the gauges. Maybe you will be able to fabricate one with this information. A piece of 7/16” dia. aluminum rod would work well.

GM #3698364 is a very old part number dating back to 1951 or 52. I'm not surprised it's hard to find. From what I can tell, it was NEVER available in SERVICE.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
