Less than 10% of the real cars once you eliminate the obvious fakes. I thought there would be more.

Gary-- In comment #22, I provided info on two 396 cars that I have owned, #19583 a convertible and #17261 a coupe, and neither made your list. Am I missing something?

My apologies Patrick, I missed that.
I have now added them.

It raises a question as to how much information to put up.
On 17261 I put it down as it originally was when you owned it and I did not mention that it has changed colour and the trim tag looks a bit dodgy as seen at Carlyle. Should we mention this or will I be sued?
On 19583 I put it down as unknow owner as we do not have the permission of your friend to put his name in the public domain.
Any comments would be appreciated?

We now have a discrepancy between the two lists.
We have 227 on the C2 Registry and 223 on my list!

Gary -- That is fine concerning 17261. There is no problem identifying John as the owner of 19583. He is my best friend, and I helped him restore it. We are both proud of the result. He is a member of the TDB and has discussed various aspects of it on this website.

How to treat 396 postings from eBay, Hemmings, NCRS. etc. etc... from decades past ? Earlier this month I had a look at what I show in my (mostly computer) files, and got 32 L78s; only eight of which appear on Gary's spreadsheets.

Gary --certainly. Many of the ones I have are from eBay postings, most with photos. Some with Protect-O-Plate photos; some with original GM paperwork. I'll have to send them in dribs and drabs, (via email) and let you edit and insert in your lists according to VIN. I started collecting L78 data right after my purchase of 23564, in August of 1988.

Here's the 396 VINs which I obviously have not sorted in ascending order.

23162, 17144, 15702, 23444, 13160, 23340, 17183, 23556, 13762, 22212, 22701, 22400, 21527, 21604, 16211, 22301, 21570, 19402, 21604, 22283, 19431.

That's only 21, but I've left out there are nine which you already have; also you have probably added since. There's also a silver/silver conv. around town (1.3 million pop) that I don't know the VIN; will have to ask local Corvette shop.

Maroon Coupe 194375S109017 is for sale by in Alsip, IL (Facebook Marketplace)
Says "numbers matching", but VIN is way early.
