        Re: 1975 Gas Tank Leak

...I'd also believe it is one of the rubber lines above the passenger side muffler. Also, 1975-1977 Corvettes came from the factory with a rubber bladder in the tank, which due to aging & ethanol in gasoline can shrink and collapse inside the tank. In 1994, I removed the rubber bladder out of my '75 L-82 coupe and set it up like a '74 & earlier style without the bladder.

Ended up dropping the tank, well about 75% out, so I could get to the lines. Not a fun job. One of the lines did indeed have several pinholes near the frame rail. Dumb question perhaps but why are there two lines running out of the tank? Thanks for your patience.

David, glad to hear you found your problem and that it was only one of the rubber lines. Yes, dropping a tank is a bit of a pain but it seems to be a right of passage when you own a C2 or C3. Not an expert, but the second line is the return line allowing fuel and pressure to return to the tank when the carb is full. There should actually be three lines, two to the right (supply and return) and one on the left side which is the evap line that returns fuel vapor back to the tank. I would replace all three rubber lines while you have the tank down. Good luck !!
