Do the exhaust manifolds on this car have (plugged) AIR fittings? If not, it means the manifolds were changed at the time the AIR was removed. The casting numbers and dates on these manifolds might give some clue as to when the "conversion" occurred.

      Joe,

It appears that my RH side is a GM #3932461 RH14 and it appears the holes have been either been filled in at some point in the past or were just never drilled. I'll post a few pictures below. My passenger side is a GM #3846559 LH ?? (as best I can tell), but there aren't any holes for an AIR system at all, nor does there look to have ever been areas for them to be drilled. What would your take be on that match up of exhaust on an Oct 1969 car?

In addition, the passengers side appears to have a C15 stamp on the backside. Here's a picture, although you have to read it backwards.

Without AIR fittings neither manifold could possibly have been originally installed on a 1969 small block. So, someone changed them. The right side manifold looks like it was cast in March, 1975.

            Thanks Joe,

So besides having the tapped holes for the AIR fittings and the embossed number, is there anything else to distinguish them as being for a Corvette? I see a few on fleabay for sale, one saying it fits a Chevy Truck with AIR.

The "ram's horn" style exhaust manifolds were also used on some passenger cars as well as trucks. They were not exclusive to Corvettes. The 3872765 and 3932461 with AIR fitting were used for all 1969 Corvette small blocks.
