I currently have screws with a hex key type head. Would like to replace, but not at home to pull one for sizing...diameter, thread, and length.
    Thank-you!

The 5th Edition TIM&JG says they were cadmium plated, but I have my doubts; Zinc will be fine. Not too many people can tell the difference anyway.

Sorry I have no dimension information.

The original license plate screws were 1/4-14 thread size, 5/8" in thread length, slotted round head, and with a 9/16" head diameter. They were zinc plated. I've never found a GM part number for them but they were supplied in a PRODUCTION-only kit of GM #3875313. They are easily available in reproduction and the reproductions I've seen are virtually perfect.

Here are photos of guaranteed known original examples. You will note that one appears to be of black finish and the other (oxidized) zinc. Why? Well, the black example was used on the rear license plate. I expect that exhaust gasses reacted with the zinc, blackening it. I absolutely guarantee that both of these screws originally came out of the same GM #3875313 kit.
