Re: 67 original Oil Canister
I always used my 3/8" drive to tighten the oil filter bolt, and always had a minor, but persistent leak particularly from the center bolt. On one occasion I decided to use a torque wench set at the recommended torque spec. on the bolt (24 ft.-lb.), which nearly eliminated the drips.- Top

Re: 67 original Oil Canister
Is it leaking from the top around the gasket or bottom around the bolt? At the top, the gasket Must be installed correctly in the groove with no twisting. If at the bottom,, it needs a new copper crush washer. I only change the upper gasket every other oil change.- Top
