Re: 1970 Power steering cylinder, is it original
Charles, I don't "know" this for certain, but it's probably a Julian date code for when the cylinder was made?
The odd thing about that (if it's true it is a Julian date code) is the 45th day of 1970 was Feb 14th which was a Saturday.
maybe they were working overtime to keep cylinders supplied??thx,

Re: 1970 Power steering cylinder, is it original
Charles, I meant to say a five digit Julian date code as my original for my 1971 December 18th build date reads: 233 70. Not a three digit as I mentioned in my prior post. - Ron"SOLID LIFTERS MATTER"- Top

Re: 1970 Power steering cylinder, is it original
Thanks everyone for your input. For now I just bought a remanufactured cylinder with a limited life time warranty from NAPA. Grand opening this weekend with 25% off. They actually had one is stock and it looks identical to the original which I kept. The shaft is in good condition so I will probably buy a kit and rebuild it.- Top
