Also, I've included the drawing for the block that mounts in the lower control arm in the video.

If you need any more information or questions, let me know.

I made some blocks up and sent them out to others already. If people are interested in a run of blocks, I can see about getting some more made.

I'm already committed to using this method to change out my coil springs, so I thought I'd share/paste the items here for those who might follow me using this same method.

My local machine shop is charging me $135 for one of those blocks. I thought I'd share/paste the items here for those who might follow me using this same method to compress coil springs. I've just added the following items to my cart at McMaster-Carr and it subtotals approximately $38. So with the plate/block and the hardware I'm into this project about $173. Hopefully your local machine shop charges you less than mine did for this threaded block.

Tom, would you please take a look at the list below and let me know if there's anything you'd change? Thanks.
    Brian

Brian, Add a flat bearing at the top (Shock mount) surface and you'll save the pressed cup from being damaged.

The flat bearing and rubber are both good ideas! I put two large washers on top of the shock hole, greased the area between the washers and the bottom of the nut. The washers and nut slid on the greased surfaces without rotating the lower washer.

I also like to loctite the rod to the lower block and loctite the nut on the backside of the block also. That way you do not have to worry about them rotating.

Brian, Private message me your address and I'll get a stainless machined block out to you. I have an extra.
