Re: 1991 C4 Tire Pressure Indicator
I am a new Corvette owner, and I am shopping for new wheels/tires for my 1991 C4 Coupe. I have some questions about the “Tire Pressure Indicator” system that my car has, and how that differs from a “Tire Pressure Monitoring System” (TPMS). Hopefully someone in this forum can help me understand...
I don’t know how the system on my car works. Does it include a component that sits inside the tire? If so, what should I be shopping for when getting new wheels and tires (I am keeping my old wheels/tires, so any components included with them are not available to reuse…)
Thanks much for any comment!

All C4 tire pressure sensors are GM-discontinued and difficult and/or expensive to find. I know of no aftermarket replacements. I would not even consider purchasing a used sensor because you don't know if it works or if it does, for how long it will continue working.
As has been mentioned, each wheel position uses a specific sensor. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Craig,
If you do have UJ6 option on your car. Contact Dirk Gaddis a fellow NCRS member. You'll find Dirk listed in the Members menu.
