14048901 was the forging number on the GM #14053350 idler arm assembly. This was originally used on 1982 Corvettes. It will work for 1963-81 but is configured differently than the 63-81 idler arm and would be obviously incorrect. The 1963-81 idler arm has a generally round cross section for the forged arm component of the assembly. The 14053350 has a "squarish" cross section of the forged arm.

Re: 66 idler arm part #

The 1963-81 Corvette idler arm cannot be positively identified by the forging number on the arm. That's because the exact same arm was used on the idler arm assembly for some early 60's Chevrolet light trucks. The bracket section of the Corvette assembly has one offset; the truck assembly bracket has two offsets. Thus, the two assemblies are not interchangeable nor convertible to one another.
