Re: 1953-55 Current owners
I spoke with Mark Francis today and he will attempt to combine my roster with the one that Mike McCagh has, and place them online.
Stay tuned.
Thanks,

Re: 1953-55 Current owners
Today, Someone on Facebook posted what appears to be a December 1953 listing of Corvette owners. There are said to be 69 names, of mostly executive level men. Dinah Shore is listed in "Hollywood, CA". There is a cover letter explaining the desire to create a Corvette Club. Is this real?

Today, I had a req. to add these two pages. Still do not know if this is real.https://MichiganNCRS.org

Re: 1953-55 Current owners
Assuming the Facebook paperwork is legit and since almost all of the 69 owners appear to be VIP's, i wonder if GM sent out a blanket letter to all VIP's they were aware of and offered them first dibs on purchasing a 53 corvette. mike- Top

Re: 1953-55 Current owners
This sure looks legit. The first name on the list Greenwalt is familiar as one of the first DuPont people to get a '53. John Wayne got #51, and it is common knowledge that Dinah Shore did promo work for Chevy. Is Jack Cooper the guy responsible for getting the C8's delivered? I wonder if any of the names also appeared on the 1953 plaque done by Corvette News in 1978.

Re: 1953-55 Current owners
On the last page is Frank W Fink, he was an early '53 owner, the car was purchased from Guaranty Chevrolet in San Diego, Vin # unknown. Mr Fink was the designer and chief engineer of the B-24 "Liberator" bomber used heavily in WWII.- Top

Re: 1953-55 Current owners
FYI - I checked all the names provided by Tom against the names (and VINs) listed on the "The 1953 Honor Roll" Plaque discussed in the Spring 2005 Restorer article by Al Hill - there are no matches. From reading that article, I got the impression it was based on a survey conducted in the 1968/69 timeframe, so I don't know if the Corvette News 1978 version was different or not. thx, Markthx,
