There is a rumor that a new edition (8th) of the 1963/64 Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide will soon be available. Anyone know who the Team Leader for the revision is and in particular, who is writing the fuel injection and Z06 portions?

The previous edition did not recognize several correct, original aspects of my '63 when it was judged.- Top

Re: New 8th Edition 1963/64 Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide
150 viewers and no response - not surprising, since I was on the team and attending Bend '82 when I heard Sam Folz announce that the 63-4 manual had just gone to the printer; I stood up and announced that there was a mistake - I was on the team and we had just sent in our first comments - turned out Joe Clark (TL) had just been in an accident and "was worried about missing a deadline" and had sent a manual to the printer.
It has been downhill ever since.- Top

Re: New 8th Edition 1963/64 Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide
Gary, The National Team Leader has been ask many times about a revision. I don't know whether he frequents this board but do know he does not offer an email address in the Restorer. He does offer communication thru the SASE process. To simplify my question, what is the process involved in revising a manual? Is the membership allowed input? It would seem to me the more input the more accurate the product. To accomplish this, the membership should be notified of the revision in advance and offered the opportunity to contribute. I don't understand the secrecy or reluctance to getting my OP answered.- Top

Rick,
Next call would be to the National Judging Chairman. The NJC should be able to answer your question.

The 'Contact Information' page shows Carlton's email address as colclc@aol.com so you don't have to call or send him a letter.- Top

Not sure I understand why the NTL can't respond himself and directly answer the question at hand. This is a longstanding issue and has yet to be addressed by an elected or appointed member of the NCRS hierichy. The membership deserves an updated manual and it is long overdue.- Top
