Yeah well posting pics is an art form here. Ya'll will just have to turn your laptops. The car is pretty much a shell right now. Looking to get the body off for paint soon. Lots of bubba work to cleanup. I'm surprised this one even ran 15 years ago. My biggest project will be the wiring. I have an engine and taillight replacement harnesses in hand. Now I'm looking for some color diagrams that will help me ringout circuits and components. Any suggestions? Also whats with removing the ignition switch nut? How is this accomplished with out destroying the nut or switch?
        Steve,
Your car reminds me of a '65 I owned back in the 90s...Nassau blue over Bright blue interior...beautiful combo. You're going to want to buy a dash harness and a forward lamp harness, as well. No sense putting any of that 56 year old wiring back in there. Lectric Limited or M&H Electric can hook you up with harnesses. Doc Rebuild sells the best color wiring diagrams but he is temporarily closed due to the "Rona". He should be open buy the time you need to buy one.
        Great project...enjoy the ride!

Be on the lookout for any chalk, marker, or paint marks you see on the body or frame and parts.

The frame looks to be in exceptional condition.

Re: Noob doing a 65 frame off restoration

I've located a few spots on the frame that will need some TLC. For the most part shes gonna be a great project. I can't say it will be a judging car. After looking at all the parts that have been replaced with non standard Chevy parts that cost will be hideous at this point. I will keep the #'s matching engine and drivetrain. I will keep the look and feel of a 65 Vette. But I do need to upgrade a few items that will make driving her more reliable. A set of American Racing wheels is a must since the cost of 65 hub caps are more.

They look great on any C2, and fitted with 205X75X15 radials, they handle as good as they look without a worry of fender damage.

Not that I don't like gray. If anyone has painted the spokes to match the car color, How about some pics?

Unless the car is silver, gray or black...don't.

                              Yeah I get it.
Just figured if someone has tried this before. Just looking. I do like the amber color but not fixated on it. Just looking for pics of what others have tried.

                                Welcome Steve,
65's are my favorite C-2, especially coupes. I have had many. A Southenn California friend just bought Cooper Wide white tires for his 58. He took his American TT's off and will sell them. I will see if they are the type 2 models that clear the calipers and the price. They have been on the car at least since 2005
