NAPA Flywheel, clutch and pressure plate

Just curious...has anyone had any real success with using these products in their midyear?

    Mine is a 340hp with a T10 tranny.

I've contacted Summit for the same products and I wanted other opinions.

Napa may be the Luk clutch which is a very good OEM replacement.

They are Luk clutches. The only thing I'd suggest is getting a different throw out bearing. They supply a cheap plastic TO bearing. I have installed the NAPA clutches in a decent amount of cars with good success.

The bearing I'd suggest in the Corvette application is a National 614018

      Hope that helps,

I've had problems with the NAPA clutch being the wrong thickness. I suggest that you purchase a LUK clutch kit (clutch plate, pressure plate and TO bearing).

I used to get a life time warranty, from a local parts house, if I purchased a resurfaced flywheel (or had proof of the flywheel was surfaced).
This is one item I would purchase local if possible. Shipping and refunds are a big headache if anything goes amiss.
I always had good luck with the LUK products. I know you only considered new but never purchase a rebuilt clutch.
I have also found pilot bearings with wild quality control issues on the dimensions. I would measure the ID and OD closely before installation.
Many times the LUK kits will come with an alignment tool. Pretty good quality ones that worked decently.
Might consider making some alignment pins that can be inserted in the threaded holes. Just cut some bolts off and slot the end with a hacksaw to you can remove them with a screwdriver. Typically only need two, not four. Don't forget the grease in the throw-out bearing's cavity. Plan on readjusting the linkage. Make the little alignment tool before hand so the job goes smoothly.
            Best of luck.
            Rick

Well, I purchased the flywheel and clutch kit from NAPA. It is a LUK setup. it does come with a brass pilot bushing and a plastic throwout bearing. I intend to get a steel one and throw the other throwout bearing away unless someone wants it for a paperweight!

              Thanks for the comments

Jerry, take a magnet and is it sticks to pilot brg. They will fool you. I have brought quite a few kits.
