I am going through a recently acquired 1991 Coupe, hoping to get it judged this year some time. Of course the car does not have the original oil filter or battery, and it appears the fuel filter has also been swapped out. Can anyone tell me what specific oil filter, fuel filter and battery came with the car originally, and where on God's green earth I might look to find them?? I suspect I will need to settle on non-original equipment, so if that is the case, what would be the best substitutes in terms of maximizing judging points? I am new to this endevour, so any clues are most welcome - Thank you!

Re: C4 Battery and Filters
I have see original used batteries on ebay for as low as $100 most are around $200.
The oil filters are available as well.
Neutralize the acid, gut it from the bottom and put a braille or other gel battery in the bottom and use jump cables to the terminals - this is the only option currently.James A Groome

The original oil filter was an AC PF-25. However, I believe the original PRODUCTION filter was black with a black and silver label. So-adorned PF-25 oil filters were never available in SERVICE. SERVICE oil filters were blue. I do not know of any source for the black PF-25 although I suppose it's possible they are reproduced. The PF-25 oil filter is long ago GM-discontinued and replaced by the PF-454 which is a shorter filter. You can still find blue PF-25's on eBay. You could also obtain a WIX 51069 which is black and remove the labels. Then, you'd be close.
The original fuel filter was a GM #25055052, aka AC GF 481. This is GM discontinued and replaced by GM #25171792, aka AC GF 652. You can still find GF 481's for sale. I believe the originals had a black, printed-on label.
As far as a battery goes, it's pretty much a moot point. These batteries were wet-charged like most modern batteries. Therefore, by now, every one that ever existed is "dead-and-gone". I know of no reproductions. Your best bet is a current AC Delco battery of group 75. That will get you the most judging points for a replacement battery. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
