Just a point>Don't get fooled by the different shades of color as one day it was cloudy and the next picture was a more sunny day.
Different Cameras also as the bottom picture has more "pixels" in it. Larry

Rear of alternator is reclocked, for one. Temperature sender wire extended and rerouted.

Rerouted the temp sender wire and put french locks and washers on the exhaust manifolds. As a C3 guy that's about all I can see.

what pastor Mike said, and the french locks like C3 Larry said, and you reoriented the wing screws on the spark plug shields to all be the same.
Am I seeing a double throttle return spring? that won't fly.

Exhaust manifold looks like the coating was removed. Larry, is red wire on alternator suppose to be pointed downward ? It appears bunched up. The AIM will show position.is your drivers side horizontal ignition shield tang on the outsider shield? appears inboard of the shield.

Are the tops of the shocks blacked out on C2s?

Re: A Quiz For Our Engine Experts On My 66 L75 Base Engine

Thanks to all that have responded; very much appreciated. Learned more about my engine that I did not know. Now to Recap:

Most of you got the most noticeable things>Alternator is reclocked;temperature sender wire extended and rerouted. Now the wire
goes through that front clip on the valve cover. While we are talking about the alternator Ed Johnson mentioned the routing of the
Red Wire. In my AIM Page A8 UPC12 it shows the Bat. Term. Cover facing up and Red Wire going up. It looks like my routing is
correct. PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG.
Yes I have added french locks and washers on the exhaust manifolds as Lawrence Merchantz mentioned.

                          Don Hooper> Saw a
double throttle return spring which is correct. I have been looking for a

Throttle return spring either GM#3830222 or Dr.Rebuild #3459204 both black in color but can not find as of yet. If you
look at the current Driveline under parts wanted you will see my ad. L.I.C. and Paragon Springs do not have the proper
tension. IF ANYBODY KNOWS WHERE I CAN FIND AND BUY THE ABOVE PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

                          Ed Johnson also said>
The AIM will show position.is your drivers side horizontal ignition shield tang on the outsider shield? appears inboard of the shield. >>I can not tell for sure from my AIM and not sure what "tang" you are talking about. My horizontal shield
tabs are on the outside. Picture below is what my engine was modeled after and you will see the tabs are like mine.
Yes the manifolds are different even though the casting numbers are the same. The one on the bottom picture where sent to get

ceramic coated plus I added "Calyx" over the coating to get the proper color. Comment always welcomed. Picture below that
I based my engine on. Thanks again>Larry
