1975 L-48 Air Filter Element

Am I correct in understanding from the TIMJG that the working on the black rubber should read: BEST WAY TO PROTECT YOUR ENGINE - REPLACE WITH TYPE A 348 C . And, it should have 3/8" square mesh on the outside and 1/8" square mesh on the inside to be correct for 1975? Thanks for everyone's help and advice.

To find a original air filter you will be paying to much, your better of going to ebay a buy a Delco service replacement. You can find the wording sometimes, but the square mesh was long discontinued, and if you find one you be surprised just what they’ll want for it.

it would not be correct to use the word "correct" for 75 348C filters...rather a more useful term is typical. I say that because after what has been an exhaustive study...it was 75 when AC changed the wording. There is no absolute change over date. But the square mesh size is correct.

The "Best Way to" words are gone on the second generation of the filter. It otherwise appears the same.
