C4 Speaker Location

The 91 sales brochure says all three available stereos have four speakers (base Delco, Delco/Bose cassette, Delco/Bose with CD and cassette).

The 95 sales brochure says the base stereo has four speakers, while the two optional Bose systems have six speakers.

The 96 sales brochure says all three stereo choices have six speakers.

My question: Where are the two additional speakers for the '95 Bose systems, and all of the '96 systems?

I know the four speaker systems have two speakers in the foot-well and two in the rear compartment.

I'm asking because I'm in the market for a 91-96 Corvette and wondered about the six speaker systems.

The Bose systems have 2 speakers on each side in the front and 1 speaker on each side for the rear for a total of 6 speakers. The 2 front speakers on each side are mounted on speaker panels under the fabric covered grilles on the rockers. The panels also contain the amplifier for those speakers.

The rear speakers are also mounted on a panel which includes the amplifier.

Yet in '91 the Bose systems only had four speakers. So the front speaker enclosures changed from one to two speakers each in later years?

The 1991 Bose system had 6 speakers, just like 1992 and later. In fact, 1990 Bose did, too.
